ABC Heywire and Trailblazer finalists met with RDA committee members to share their stories, make connections and talk about their ideas for the future of regional Australia.

For nearly 25 years our department has helped share the stories, hopes and ideas of young people living outside metro areas. 

As long-term sponsors of the ABC regional youth programs, our department works closely with the Heywire team and RDAs to give a voice to more than 12,200 regional youth. 

Many RDAs identify building youth leadership, pathways and resilience as key priorities. 

Through this ABC partnership, RDAs continue to play an important role in enabling young place-based change makers to make a real difference to the future of their regions. 

At a recent online networking event, RDAs members met, listened and connected with their leaders of the future.

So where to now? All participants believe their futures are looking brighter as RDAs continue to connect with ABC Heywire and Trailblazer winners  and their ideas and projects for regional Australia.
