Digital Summit

RDA Loddon Mallee is at the forefront of advancing the digital and innovation agenda in the region, and on 23 August 2023 convened the Digital Summit. Leaders from across Australia attended to exchange expertise and collaborate on pressing digital issues and opportunities affecting the Loddon Mallee region and beyond. The summit attracted over 200 participants and featured 35 speakers across more than 20 sessions.

Key topics included the digital divide, Industry 4.0, and the creation of a Digital Innovation Hub. The summit focused on three main themes and identified opportunities for further exploration, being enhancing connectivity, Accelerating Industry 4.0 and building capability.

The RDA Loddon Mallee Chair, Leonie Burrows, launched the Digital 4.0 prospectus, a pivotal document designed to celebrate, advance and expand digital capabilities across industry. 

Following the summit, three webinars were hosted which culminated in the creation of a regionally focused Digital Futures Policy Paper. The paper outlined strategies to bolster future digital economic opportunities across the region.

Subsequent roundtable discussions have focused on developing a proposal to secure funding for a Digital Hub that can create future digital jobs and build capacity across existing sectors. The RDA efforts have supported the creation of a partnership between La Trobe University and Deloitte to establish a Bendigo Digital Operations Centre.
