Priority 1: Able to work collaboratively towards improvement in the availability and quality of services to the whole region, including prioritisation of essential infrastructure

What skills/experience will be needed from future committee members to achieve this priority?

  • Must be able to think strategically and offer solution-focused approaches.
  • Able to take a holistic view of the Kimberley and an understanding of the range of issues impacting on the region.

Priority 2: Liaise with all tiers of Government to achieve positive regional outcomes

What skills/experience will be needed from future committee members to achieve this priority?

  • An understanding of the workings of local, state and federal government within the region.

Priority 3: Able to call on regional knowledge and skills-based experience to add value in a Board setting

What skills/experience will be needed from future committee members to achieve this priority?

  • Previous board experience, a history of living and working in the Kimberley region, and the ability to commit the appropriate time and dedication to a voluntary community-driven organisation.

Is geographic representation important to achieve the RDA committee's priorities?

  • Yes.

Which geographic areas require greater representation from future members?

  • Shire of Halls Creek not represented at present.

Other Comments

  • Experience in the fields of education or health would be advantageous.
  • People of Aboriginal descent are encouraged to apply.
