Priority 1: Improving regional investment attractiveness

What skills/experience will be needed from future committee members to achieve this priority?

  • Extensive business experience preferably with an international focus in one or more of the following sectors Agriculture, Tourism, Manufacturing, Professional services
  • Ability to analyse and prioritise investment opportunities
  • Understanding of and ability to describe competitive and comparative advantage on a business and or regional scale
  • Knowledge of national and international markets
  • Established stakeholder network and understanding of the Grampians region.

Priority 2: Improving transport connectivity

What skills/experience will be needed from future committee members to achieve this priority?

  • Extensive experience in transport planning,
  • Understanding of the factors influencing efficient transport and logistics operations
  • Extensive business experience preferably within the freight and logistics sector
  • Established stakeholder network and understanding of the Grampians region.

Priority 3: Increasing human capital

What skills/experience will be needed from future committee members to achieve this priority?

  • Extensive experience in the education and training sector
  • Understanding of the factors limiting human capital in regional contexts
  • Understanding of the economics of delivering education and training services in thin markets
  • Factors influencing population attraction and retention in regional areas.
  • Established stakeholder network and understanding of the Grampians region.

Is geographic representation important to achieve the RDA committee's priorities?

  • Yes.

Which geographic areas require greater representation from future members?

  • Depending whether current members re-apply, there may be some gaps in the Wimmera area.
