Priority 1: Improving Infrastructure
Informing, promoting and progressing the development and delivery of infrastructure programs and projects.
What skills/experience will be needed from future committee members to achieve this priority?
- An understanding of infrastructure priorities in the region—in particular a knowledge of roads and other transport infrastructure, expertise in information technology, and established partnerships with policy makers and funding agencies.
Priority 2: Growing Industry and Employment
Promoting investment and the appropriate allocation of land and water resources to facilitate the growth of private enterprise.
What skills/experience will be needed from future committee members to achieve this priority?
- An understanding of the region's economic opportunities—in particular a knowledge of sectors such as agriculture and mining, expertise in local resource management issues, and established partnerships with business and representative bodies.
Priority 3: Strengthening Communities
Supporting strategies to enhance community cohesion, particularly strategies which enable major public programs to be more effective and/or which celebrate the unique characteristics of the local area.
What skills/experience will be needed from future committee members to achieve this priority?
- An understanding of the region's social challenges—including a high level vision for the region, credentials in generating change and creative thinking, and established partnerships with not for profits.
