Priority 1: Planning and strategy development and integration

Regional Industry and Economic Planning.

What skills/experience will be needed from future committee members to achieve this priority?

  • Planning, strategic thinking, facilitation, partnership building, stakeholder engagement, data interpretation, measurement and evaluation expertise.
  • An awareness of the regions economic resources, industries and history.

Priority 2: Attracting Regional Investment development to diversify regional revenue generation

What skills/experience will be needed from future committee members to achieve this priority?

  • Project feasibility and return on investment assessment skills.
  • National/international industry networks that could support attracting jobs and investment into the region.
  • Financial management and corporate governance expertise.

Priority 3: Innovation and Infrastructure

What skills/experience will be needed from future committee members to achieve this priority?

  • Lobbying and advocacy expertise, awareness of innovation frameworks and standards and/or experience bidding for/securing major infrastructure investments, including exposure to the grants application and administration process.

Geography

Is geographic representation important to achieve the RDA committee's priorities?

  • Yes.

Which geographic areas require greater representation from future members?

  • Need greater representation from Clarence Valley and inland parts of region (i.e. Kyogle, Casino). There is no representation from the following local government areas: Byron, Ballina, Richmond Valley.
