New South Wales State Government Support for RDA Central Coast

18 October 2018

On Friday 12 October 2018, the New South Wales Deputy Premier John Barilaro and Adam Crouch MP, Member for Terrigal joined RDA Central Coast at the University of Newcastle’s Ourimbah Campus to announce $120,000 to support the work of RDA Central Coast.

RDA Central Coast Chairman, Phil Walker, said the funding will support the work of RDA Central Coast in driving economic and employment outcomes throughout the region.

“RDA Central Coast works with all levels of government, business and the local community to ensure the Central Coast continues to grow a cohesive, competitive and sustainable economy,” said Mr Walker.

Mr Crouch said RDA plays an important role in facilitating cooperation between Government, business and community groups to identify our regional priorities and build capacity to support the needs of the ever-growing Central Coast population.

“With our region set to experience population growth of 75,500 between 2016 and 2036, it’s critical that a structured and informed approach is taken to our region’s needs. This funding will provide exactly that,” Mr Crouch said.

John Mouland, RDA Central Coast Chief Executive Officer said, ‘the funding announcement demonstrates the importance of maintaining strong relationships with all levels of government, regardless of current funding arrangements’.

‘The funding will ensure RDA Central Coast can continue to proactively support the efforts of the NSW Government in delivering required enabling infrastructure, attracting further investment, creating new job opportunities and delivering a stronger economy for the Central Coast’, he said.
