Tourism research project in rural towns

01 March 2017

Researchers from the University of Queensland and the University of Newcastle are about to start a research project investigating how tourism and events can help to revitalise rural economies and communities.

They are looking for rural towns throughout Australia that are interested in being involved as research sites and /or case studies. They would also like to engage with communities that are already successfully using tourism and events as a regeneration strategy, as well as communities which are considering transitioning to a tourism-based economy.
