RDA Brisbane's Manufacturing Toolbox—Turbocharging regional collaboration
17 October 2016
RDA Brisbane (QLD) believes that regions need to collaborate on many key issues, as few regions have the resources to go it alone.
This principle, led RDA Brisbane to develop their Manufacturing Toolbox project.
Securing seed funding from the Queensland Government, RDA Brisbane worked with the CSIRO, Australian Computer Society, Queensland Manufacturing Industry (QMI) Solutions, Queensland State Library, Trade and Investment Queensland, Outsource Institute, and others to develop the Manufacturing Toolbox.
The Manufacturing Toolbox is an online national resource focusing on solutions to the main issues that the manufacturing industry faced: export, management and workforce skills, research and development, and collaboration.
The toolbox enables manufacturers to engage with others, access capability building programs, find help and advice and promote their businesses locally, regionally, or globally.
The Toolbox also includes a Manufacturing Showcase, highlighting over 4,500 of Australia's leading exporting manufacturers and producers.
The Toolbox will be cloned for other industries, enabling a fully interactive and functional multi industry tool and showcase.
RDA Committees nationally are invited to refer manufacturers in their regions to sign up free to the Manufacturing Toolbox and showcase their businesses nationally and to the world.
