Victorian RDA Committees come together for inaugural forum

28 April 2016

The first forum bringing all nine Victorian RDA Committees was held in Ballarat, VIC on 21 April 2016.

Mr Stuart Benjamin, Chair of RDA Grampians and Victorian delegate to the RDA Chairs Reference Group, welcomed a delegation of over 70 members to the inaugural forum. The forum, held over two days, provided an opportunity to explore the opportunities for Victoria, make stronger connections between the committees and develop Victoria's priorities.

“There was a need to bring together all Victorian RDA Committees to create the narrative for a successful future state,” said Mr Benjamin.

“It was vital that all the RDA Committees across the State collaborate and agree on a clear direction and way forward for Victoria.”

Emerging themes developed during the forum were ‘digital disruption’; ‘transitional vs transformative investment’; ‘population management’ and ‘visionary long-term planning’.

A formal report on outcomes from the forum is being developed and will be made available to all Victorian RDA Committees.
