Building Better Regions Fund
21 December 2016
On 23 November 2016, the Minister for Regional Development, Senator the Hon Fiona Nash, launched the guidelines for the Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF), to support infrastructure and community building activities in areas outside of major capital cities. The BBRF will invest $297.7 million over four years in infrastructure projects and community investments to create jobs, drive economic growth and build stronger regional communities into the future.
Members and staff from fifty RDA Committees participated in information sessions on the new fund, which were conducted by the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development between 5 and 12 December 2016. The information sessions provided an opportunity for RDA members to ask questions, provide practical suggestions and discuss what RDA Committees can do to support potential applicants in submitting strong grant applications.
Factsheets and information on the Building Better Regions Fund, including the Program Guidelines can be found at https://www.business.gov.au/bbrf. Applications for funding under both the Infrastructure Projects stream and Community Investments stream open on 18 January 2017.
