2016 ABC Heywire competition launched
20 July 2016
The ABC's annual Heywire competition is now open, calling on people aged 16—22 to share a story about life in regional Australia.
Entrants are asked to tell the nation about an aspect of their life in regional Australia in any format: in writing, video, photos or audio.
40 winners will win an all-expenses-paid trip to attend the Heywire Summit and be given an opportunity to tackle the issues important to them: whether it's revitalising agricultural communities; raising awareness of youth mental health issues; or running events that celebrate diversity in regional Australia.
Applications can be made via the Heywire website: abc.net.au/heywire. The competition closes 16 September 2016.
The competition is supported by the Australian Government through a number of agencies, including the Department.
