Victorian RDA committees announced

RDA Victoria is set to benefit from new appointments to each of its RDA committees.
The Minister for Regional Australia, Regional Development and Local Government, the Hon Simon Crean MP, and the Deputy Premier of Victoria and Minister for Regional and Rural Development, the Hon Peter Ryan MP, announced the appointments this week.
Mr Crean said the appointments will ensure that the RDA committees continue as vital connections between all three levels of government.
"The input of RDA committees is central to our place-based approach because it will help us better respond to the challenges and opportunities different regions face and enable us to embed regionalism into the way we govern," Mr Crean said.
"Committee members are local leaders with diverse skills and experience, who understand the challenges, opportunities and priorities in their communities," he said.
Mr Ryan said Victoria was committed to working in close partnership with the Australian Government and RDAs to achieve the outcomes for regional Victoria that are grounded in a local understanding of priorities, challenges and opportunities.
"The Victorian RDA network informs policy and helps set the agenda for regional and rural debate, so it is imperative each RDA is made up of local people who can provide practical and meaningful solutions to local issues,” he said.
The media releases can be viewed on Minister Crean MP’s website.
The new committee lists have been published on the My RDA page on this website.
