RDA Central West (New South Wales) hosted the Agribusiness Today Forum ‘Getting on the Pulse on Cereals and Oilseeds’ at the Forbes Services Memorial Club on 2 August 2012.

The forum was organised in partnership with Charles Sturt University’s Agribusiness School and welcomed two international speakers with 60 participants from across NSW.

RDA Central West Executive Officer Sharon Rabey told the Forbes Advocate newspaper that consumers continue to expect new products such as high-fibre bread, and meeting the standards of a changing market place was paramount for grain growers to survive in the current climate and world economy.

“We’re trying to provide a broad perspective from paddock to plate,” Ms Rabey told the Forbes Advocate. “The purpose [of the forum] was to provide quality speakers and to look at what’s going on in the market place.”

Ms Rabey said the forum received positive feedback from participants who appreciated the quality of speakers, the topics and the comprehensive information provided on the grain industry.

The day provided organisers, sponsors, speakers and participants an opportunity to network and to challenge their thinking.
