Northern Territory project announced under RDAF Round Two

Minister for Regional Australia, Regional Development and Local Government, the Hon Simon Crean MP, has announced funding for a learning and leadership centre to support Indigenous children in the Northern Territory under Round Two of the Regional Development Australia Fund (RDAF).
The $15 million Michael Long Learning and Leadership Centre will have first class facilities to support Indigenous children to attend school, develop leadership and job/community readiness skills, and keep active in sport. The funding application by AFL Northern Territory was supported by the Australian Government with a $7.5 million grant from RDAF.
RDA Northern Territory played a key role in Round Two of RDAF, with committee members selecting projects to proceed to full application stage after an Expression of Interest process.
Nearly $1 billion has been provided to RDAF for strategic infrastructure and economic growth and diversification. Round Two is worth $200 million.
