Focus on employers
Published: 10th October 2012
RDA South West (Western Australia) is holding a forum for business owners and employers at the Lord Forrest Hotel in Bunbury on 8 November 2012 to discuss recruitment challenges.
The Employers in Control forum is supported by the Department of Employment Education and Workplace Relations.
The event is aimed at employers, industry representatives, training and development staff, and people involved in recruiting. Covering topics to do with employing students, people looking for jobs, mature workers and workplace training, the forum will discuss issues such as supply chain, skills, training and development.
It will also look at government support available to the region, and where and how to get it. In particular it will detail government incentives available to businesses for employing work-ready job seekers and up-skilling their employees. In addition, attendees will hear case studies presented by regional businesses, and have the opportunity to network and connect with job service and training providers.
Services highlighted will include Job Services Australia, Disability Employment Services, Australian Apprenticeships, National Workforce Development Funds and the Workplace English Language and Literacy program.
RDA South West will also distribute a handbook of programs, contacts and providers.
