RDA Far North (South Australia) held its 8th annual Far North Economic Development Forum in Coober Pedy on 19 July 2012. The forum brought together government, private enterprise, small and medium business, mining companies and local residents to share information and learn about the latest projects and initiatives in the region.

The forum was opened by Coober Pedy Mayor Steve Baines and included speakers from the mining, business and government sectors.

The presentations and discussions looked at ways to achieve partnership and collaboration between business, industry, government and community.

Tourism and mining are the largest growth industries in the Far North region and the conference drew on the importance of partnerships within these sectors to ensure future success.

The forum was followed by a networking dinner which was attended by over 100 guests. Guests were also entertained by a local jazz band and well-known corporate comedian Paul Martell.
